At The Naked Pharmacy, we ensure that all of our supplements are made with effective strength bioactives, so they are clinically proven to work.

We aim for each supplement to be scientifically supported by multiple randomised placebo-controlled human studies. All clinical trial studies we use to support our supplement use the same dosage and formulation of the product. The scientific studies are published in peer-reviewed journals.

What can Baobab do for you?

Baobab, scientifically known as Adansonia digitata, is a fruit renowned for its rich nutritional profile and potential health benefits. Rich in dietary fibre and polyphenols, baobab is a prebiotic, supporting gut health and overall well-being. We use baobab as a natural filler in our capsules, unlike the bulking and anti-caking agents found in many other supplements made by other companies.

The Studies

The scientific studies to support our claims on baobab are published in the following peer-reviewed journals:

Study: Adansonia digitata L. (Baobab Fruit) Effect on Postprandial Glycemia in Healthy Adults: A Randomized Controlled Trial

Objective: To investigate the effect of baobab fruit on postprandial glycemia and measure its bioactive compounds and antioxidant activity.

Findings: The study found that the ingestion of baobab aqueous extract significantly reduced postprandial glycemia incremental area under the curve and glucose maximum concentration compared to the control group. The baobab extracts also exhibited high total phenol content and strong antioxidant activity.

Study: The Acute Effects of Baobab Fruit (Adansonia digitata) on Satiety in Healthy Adults

Objective: To measure the effects of baobab fruit extract on satiety.

Findings: The study reported that subjective measures of hunger were reduced following the consumption of a smoothie containing baobab extract compared to a control smoothie. However, there was no significant difference in calorie intake at a subsequent ad libitum meal.
